What Is Eid Al-Fitr Festival?

Eid Al-Fitr celebrates the end of Ramadan, which begins one month earlier than the celebration. Muslims across the globe observe fast from dawn to sunset during the mentioned month. They break their fast every day after sunset with meals containing fruits, dry fruits and other items.

Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic Lunar Calendar. However, the celebrations are observed on the first day of Shawwal or the 10th month of the Hijri calendar. Even though there are tentative dates for the celebrations, it is based on the crescent moon sight over Mecca in Saudi Arabia or other countries.

Thus, the Eid Al-Fitr will be observed on 21st of March. The celebrations of this festival at the end of Ramadan last for one to three days, varying between countries. Muslims engage in special prayers called Salat Al-Eid at mosques to pray to Allah. The celebrations include dressing up in the best outfit and enjoying scrumptious meals, including desserts, with family and friends.,
