  2. Raksha Bandhan: Indians celebrate this festival to rejoice in the love between a sister and a brother. Usually, a sister ties a rakhi on her brother's wrist, who in return vows to take care of his sister. This festival is usually one of the August holidays observed in India.
  3. Jhulan Purnima: This festival in India celebrates the bond between Lord Krishna and Radha. Usually, swings with these deities are decorated to celebrate the festival in India.

  8. Birthday of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur: Tripura celebrates this day to remember Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur, the 'modern architect of Tripura'.
  9. Tirubhav Tithi of Srimanta Sankardeva: Srimanta Sankardeva, known as the father of Assamese culture, is celebrated on this day. This day marks the death anniversary of Srimanta Sankardeva wherein banks remain closed as a part of the August holidays.
  10. Ganesh Chaturthi: Ganesh Chaturthi celebrates the birth of Lord Ganesha, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. People worship the Lord to seek blessings and prosper in life.
  11. Nuakhai: The word Naukhai comes from 'Nua' meaning new and 'Khai' meaning food. This is the annual harvest festival that Odisha celebrates with offerings to crops and Mother Earth.
