The new scheme offers FASTag Annual Pass which is not yet available for purchase. This Annual Pass will cost around 3000 and will be valid for one year or 200 trips for private vehicles. The highway travel will now be much easier and convenient making it affordable for frequent travellers. In this blog we will discuss the Annual FASTag in detail.

- Huge savings for frequent highway travellers potentially over ₹7,000!

What is the FASTag Annual Pass?
FASTag annual Pass is a pass which allows vehicles like private cars/jeep/van to cross national highways and national expressways for free for about one year or 200 trips whichever is earlier. Annual FASTag pass will come into effect from 15th August 2025.
Who will Benefit from the FASTag Annual Pass?
The total cost of this annual pass is Rs 3,000, and the maximum number of toll crossings allowed is 200, resulting in an average cost of Rs 15. So, for a regular traveler, the higher the average cost of tolls along his route, the greater the profit.
For example, if the average toll rate is Rs 50, the passenger will have to pay Rs 10,000 for 200 toll crossings. However, with this FASTag pass, he can do the same for only Rs 3,000, saving Rs 7,000. If the traveler chooses a long route with a considerably higher average toll cost, he or she will save more.

Where to Purchase the FASTag Annual Pass?
FASTag annual pass can be purchased from the RajmargYatra mobile app or the NHAI website.
How to Activate FASTag Annual Pass?
The Annual Pass will be activated after the vehicle and its linked FASTag have been verified as eligible. Once verified, users can pay Rs.3000 for the particular financial year through Rajmargyatra mobile app or NHAI website. After payment confirmation, your annual pass will get activated within 2 hours on the registered FASTag.
FASTag Annual Pass Validity
FASTag Annual pass will be valid for one year or 200 trips (whichever comes first) from the date of activation. Once the pass covers 200 trips or one year whichever comes first the annual pass will expire. To continue using the Annual Pass features, the user must reactivate it in order to receive 200 trips and a one-year validity period.
Important Terms & Conditions for the FASTag Annual Pass
Applicable to limited vehicles.
It is applicable to limited vehicles like private, non-commercial automobiles, jeeps, and vans.
Fixed cost and non-transferable.
The pass costs Rs 3,000 upfront, regardless of how many journeys you take. If you take fewer than 200 journeys in a year, you will lose the unused value, and no reimbursements will be issued. Once enabled, the pass is not transferable and available for a specific vehicle or FASTag.
Applicable for selected toll plazas.
FASTag Annual pass is applicable for only selected toll plazas like National Highway (NH) and National Expressway (NE). So, if you frequently travel on state highway tolls or expressways operated by state or local governments, this pass is inapplicable.
Invalid If FASTag not properly fastened
To activate the pass, the FASTag must be correctly fastened to the vehicle's windshield, linked to a valid Vehicle Registration Number (VRN), and not banned.
Confusion in calculating trips.
If users are unaware of the restrictions, it is possible to get confused when counting the number of journeys. When calculating one crossing from toll plazas is considered as one trip and a (to and from trip) is considered two trips. For closed toll plazas, one entire entry and exit pair is considered a single journey.
Toll plazas covered under FASTag Annual Pass
FASTag Annual passes can only be used at the National Highway (NH) and National Expressway (NE) toll plazas. The FASTag will function like a regular FASTag at fee plazas on expressways, state highways (SH), and other locations operated by state or local governments, as well as parking lots, and corresponding user fees may apply.
