How to Download an Aadhaar Card?

Step 1: Go to the UIDAI portal.

Step 2: Click on ‘Download Aadhaar’ from the section ‘My Aadhaar’.

Step 3: Getting redirected to a new page, choose the 'Aadhaar Number' option and fill in the required block by entering the number.

Step 4: Enter the captcha to verify yourself and click on ‘Send OTP’.

Step 5: If you want to get a masked version of the document, which hides the first eight digits of the number, then select the masked Aadhaar option.

Step 6: The e-Aadhaar card will be downloaded on your device.

How to Download an Aadhaar Card by Using Enrolment ID?

The enrolment ID in an Aadhaar card is the number you have been provided after making an enrolment. Follow these steps to complete the Aadhaar card download procedure using the enrolment ID:

Step 1: Visit the official website of UIDAI.

Step 2: Click on ‘Download Aadhar’ from the ‘My Aadhaar’ tab.

Step 3: Choose the ‘Enrolment ID’ option over the Aadhaar number and virtual ID.

Step 4: Put your 28-digit enrolment ID number and complete the captcha verification process.

Step 5: Select 'Send OTP' and you will receive an OTP in your registered mobile number.

Step 6: Enter the OTP on the designated field.

Step 7: Click the 'Verify and Download' option to download e-Aadhaar on your device.

Download e-Aadhaar by Using Virtual ID?

You can also use your virtual ID to complete the Aadhaar card download process by following the below steps:

Step 1: Log in to the UIDAI’s online portal and click ‘Download Aadhaar’ under the tab ‘My Aadhaar’

Step 2: Click on the ‘Virtual ID’ option.

Step 3: Now enter the virtual ID and security code and tap on 'Send OTP'.

Step 4: Enter the OTP on the desired required field once you have received it on your registered mobile number.

Step 5: Click on ‘Verify and Download’. Your e-Aadhaar card will be downloaded on your device.

In case you do not have your virtual ID, you can simply send an SMS to the Aadhaar helpline number 1947. You have to write 'GVID' and then the last four digits of your Aadhaar number and send it to 1947.

Download e-Aadhaar by Using Name and Date of Birth?

If there are instances where you have forgotten or lost your enrollment ID, you can use your name or date of birth to find it. Once you have found the enrolment ID, you can easily download your e-Aadhaar. Follow these steps to find your enrollment ID:

Step 1: Navigate to the official website of UIDAI and click on 'Retrieve Lost or Forgotten EID/UID' from 'Dashboard'.

Step 2:  Select ‘Enrolment ID’ or ‘Aadhaar Number’.

Step 3: Write your full name the same as you have entered while applying for your Aadhaar card.

Step 4: Enter the mobile number that you have provided at the time of enrolment.

Step 5: Enter your registered email address as an alternative option.

Step 6: Enter the captcha to verify yourself and select 'Send OTP'. You will receive an OTP on your mobile number.

Step 7: Enter the OTP to receive your enrolment ID.

Step 8: Once you have found your enrolment ID, go to the official portal of UIDAI and select ‘e-Aadhaar Download’.

Step 9: Now enter the enrolment ID and complete the captcha verification. Generate and submit OTP to complete the Aadhaar card download procedure.

Download Aadhaar Card via DigiLocker?

UIDAI has partnered with DigiLocker to make Aadhaar available to individuals by linking the Aadhaar with a DigiLocker account. Follow the below steps to use the Digilocker app for Aadhaar card download:

Step 1: Log in to your DigiLocker account by visiting the official portal or downloading the application.

Step 2: Tap the ‘Sign In’ button and choose the credential between your username, mobile number or Aadhaar to sign in.

Step 3: Enter anyone from your mobile number, username and Aadhaar number with your 6-digit security PIN to perform sign-in on the DigiLocker platform.

Step 4: Once you will see the page ‘Issued Document’, download ‘e-Aadhaar’ by clicking the ‘Save’ icon.

Downloading Your Aadhaar Card via mAadhaar App

Using the mAadhaar app, you can download your e-Aadhaar and get your Aadhaar number anytime you need. You can complete your Aadhaar card download process by following these below steps:

Step 1: Install the mAadhaar app from any app store and log into it.

Step 2: If you have already linked your mobile number to your Aadhaar during enrolment, you can easily download your Aadhaar card. Otherwise, you have to manually choose the option from your Aadhaar number, enrolment ID or virtual ID to download your Aadhaar card. 

Step 3: An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Put the OTP in the required field. It can also happen that the OTP will be automatically read by the app.

Step 4: The Aadhaar card will be saved on your device.

You can include a maximum of three profiles on a single device. All the profiles have the same mobile number as their registered mobile number.

Download e-Aadhaar via the UMANG Application?

The UMANG application is a platform that allows all citizens of India to get all e-Gov services. You can also download the following steps to complete the Aadhaar card download procedure:

Step 1: Download the UMANG app from the app store and register or login yourself in.

Step 2: Select the 'Documents' section and click on 'Aadhaar Card'.

Step 3: Click on the option that indicates to view Aadhaar via DigiLocker account.

Step 4: After you reach the home page of DigiLocker, sign in to DigiLocker.

Step 5: While registering yourself on DigiLocker, make sure you have already registered your mobile number with Aadhaar.

Step 6: You can see your Aadhaar Card on the UMANG app through DigiLocker.

How to Open Your Digital Aadhaar Card?

You have to open the file after completing the Aadhaar card download process. Open the password-protected document file following these steps:

Step 1: To open your e-Aadhaar, you must have a PDF reader software. 

Step 2: Now it is time to enter the password. You must enter the first four letters of your name in capital letters and your birth year in YYYY format. For instance, if you are Rohit Kumar and born in 1990, your password will be 'ROHI1990'.

If you like to print your e-Aadhaar, you can do it after downloading it by selecting the 'print' option in the PDF reader software and entering the number of copies you want to print. You must ensure that a printer is connected to your device.
