  • The first 4 letters of the password is name in CAPITAL and the next four are year of birth (YYYY).

Aadhaar holders can download e-Aadhaar card in three different ways- 

  • Using Aadhaar Number
  • Using Enrollment Numbers
  • Using VID

Download using Aadhaar Number

Aadhaar Card holders can download aadhaar using the aadhaar number. Follow the steps given below-

  • Visit UIDAI official website

  • Click on My Aadhaar option

  • Next, click on download Aadhaar
  • On the e-Aadhaar download page

  • Enter the Aadhaar number
  • Enter the Captcha Code
  • Click on Send OTP

Download using Enrollment Number

Aadhaar Card holders can download aadhaar using the enrollment number. Follow the steps given below-

  • Visit UIDAI official website

Aadhaar Card holders can download aadhaar using the VID. Follow the steps given below-

  • Visit UIDAI official website

  • Click on My Aadhaar option

  • Next, click on download Aadhaar
  • On the e-Aadhaar download page

  • Enter the Virtual ID number
  • Enter the Captcha Code
  • Click on Send OTP 
  • Enter the OTP and submit.

Your aadhaar card will be downloaded in a PDF file.

How to Open e-Aadhaar Using the Aadhaar Card Password

Once aadhaar card is downloaded you can open your e-Aadhaar using the password. Follow the steps given below-

  • Double-click the downloaded file to open the PDF file.
  • You will be prompted to enter the password
  • Enter the password (first four letters of name and birth year in YYYY format) and submit
  • Your locked e-Aadhaar card will open automatically.

Why is the e-Aadhaar Card File not Opening?

e-Aadhaar card downloaded can be opened by a password which is in a set format as mentioned above. If after entering password the file is not opening than floor the things given below- 

  • Check if you entered the correct first four letters of your name
  • You might have used lowercase then correct it by using uppercase
  • Cross-check if you entered your date of birth in the correct format
